2. Our guest Rev. Dr. Patricia Keel returns for this, our first show of the year. She was on our first show of the year in 2021,sharing some techniques on transforming ourselves in times of stress, which proved to be timely at the start of a momentous week in our nation besieged by an insurrection at the Capitol in DC and at Capitols of many of the states.
At the prompting of our host and interviewer Elaine, Rev. Keel gives a short history of Myrtle and Charles Fillmore, founders of the Unity Church. It was Myrtle’s affliction with tuberculosis that led her to Emma Curtis, a student of Mary Baker Eddy of Christian Science, from whom she learned that as a child of God she could not inherit sickness. Myrtle then spent meditation time to speak this insight to every cell of her body and began to change her health and be healed of TB. Upon witnessing the transformation of Myrtle, Charles was inspired to publish the principles of Unity and established the church.
Patricia was attracted to Unity and even founded Unity of Berkeley. She has augmented this with her studies of eastern metaphysics through teachers in India. The New Year Resolutions we make each year are often not accomplished because we think they are a matter of doing, rather than being. Learn in the interview how a Resolution is realized by holding it in a field of peace, connection to others and all of creation, love, and individual strength. If the field is one of distrust, anger, or disconnection, we experience defeat. Therefore, it is important to enter the stillness within, to that field of peace to determine and realize our Resolution.
Rev. Keel presents a simple ABC technique of manifesting our intention expressed in a Resolution. “A” is for Awareness of what we desire out of this field of peace. “B” is for Breath, long slow deep breaths. And “C” is for Connection. This sets us up to carry the state of higher enlightenment to all you meet for the deeper connections and the manifestation of the Resolution.
This is a show you don’t want to miss listening to firsthand.
