2. Elaine B. Holtz reads her poem:

I Am Of the Old School

I’m from the old school
I believe in doing onto others, as you would have them do unto you.
Where are the voices that answered the phone?
As I sit and listen to a recorded voice say, “Press One,”
I miss real voices, I miss having someone ask me, “How is your day?”
Where are the young men who washed my windows, checked my oil and tires?
Back then it seemed there were human beings who showed they cared about me.
I miss Plotkins grocery store where I could find candy and gum galore.
I miss the time when I had limited choices
When there were only five stations on that mystical box that put new and exciting images in front of me.
I miss the sounds of children playing in the street.
Life seemed so simple back when gasoline was
29-9/10 cents a gallon.
