Women’s Spaces Radio Show with host Elaine B. Holtz and guests Lisa Maldonaldo on current Labor Movement and Barbara Moulton on Citizens’ Climate Lobby, recorded on 9/3/18, has been uploaded to the web archives. The show was recorded, broadcast and streamed over Radio KBBF 89.1 FM in the NorthBay on Monday 9/3/18 and repeat broadcast and streamed over Radio KPCA 103.3 FM in Petaluma on Tuesday 9/4/18.

1.  Lisa Maldonaldo talks of the passion she has for labor rights that started as a child realizing the difference a union job made to her father and his ability to provide for the family. Lisa has recently been hired by the California Nurses Association to be their Labor Relations Representative. She comments on the labor movement today. She reminds us that this Saturday September 8 in San Francisco is the March called Rise for Climate, Jobs & Justice CA.  that is coordinated with marches around the world.

About our Guest:   Lisa Maldonaldo Lisa serves Labor Relations Representative at California Nurses Association. Previously LIsa was Field Director for Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Local 1021. SEIU Local1021 represents more than 54,000 public service workers in city, county & local government agencies and nonprofits throughout northern California. Lisa is trained as an attorney and previously spent 8 years with the North Bay Labor Council. Prior to the NBLC, she served as Field Director for the ACLU of Northern California for 14 years.

Barbara Moulton shares how she got involved in being an activist and the initial motivation to get involved as a volunteer in the Santa Rosa Chapter of the Citizens’ Climate Lobby.  She explains why she advocates for a national Carbon Fee & Dividend legislation, and how both parties are beginning to see this as something both sides can support. Just days after the Saturday march Rise for Climate in San Francisco Barbara will be attending the Global Climate Action Summit called by Governor Jerry Brown to occur in San Francisco September 12 – 14, during which time many climate organizations will hold actions or workshops.

About our Guest:  Barbara Moulton is a climate activist and volunteer Co-leader of Citizens’ Climate Lobby – Santa Rosa Chapter. Her first career in law was followed by years of activism and single-parenting. More recently, she served on the board of the Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition for a couple of years, and has served on the Santa Rosa Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Board since 2009.
